Even if the graveyard decks are scarce, they add up. Here having just 1 Leyline of the Void or 1 Nihil Spellbomb would have greatly increased my chances, so you could make a case for running 1 or 2 graveyard hate cards. That being said, I lost a match to a sweet Bedlam Reveler / Prowess deck, with tons of cantrips and Traverse the Ulvenwald to tutor it. If Dredge warps your local metagame, I recommend just picking another deck than Jund. Giving up the Dredge matchup frees up prized sideboards slots to improve the other matchups. Besides, the matchup remains very unfavorable even with dedicated sideboard cards: Dredge will win the first game nearly everytime, then Jund needs to find graveyard hate to steal the next two. First, hardly anybody plays Dredge or any graveyard deck in France. I chose to play no graveyard hate in the sideboard and totally give up the Dredge matchup. That being said, it is still Modern so it is better to be ready for unusual matchups. It is geared towards beating the French metagame, which features lots of Midrange and Aggro decks, but few combo decks. This list is largely inspired by Rémi Fortier's deck from Grand Prix Lille and Reid Duke's deck from the World Championship. Then you can take the control role and bank on card advantage, or just close the game quickly with a large Tarmogoyf before they can recover. When playing Jund, the first step is to efficiently trade cards with your opponent. Saving the best for the last, I've also included a cheatsheet you can print out and bring it along with you to Dallas or your game store! In addition, I am also including Kaladesh updates and sideboarding plans. Today I am going to share the list I played at the final World Magic Cup Qualifier to a 6-2 finish. It is a highly powerful deck and a strong choice in the usually diverse metagame of large tournaments. There are so many tricky sideboard techs and interactions!ĭespite having upwards of twenty archetypes in the current metagame, I recommend Jund! Hello Modern aficionados! With Grand Prix Dallas on the horizon, this seems like an excellent time to share some Modern insights! Modern is a fun format that rewards you for knowing how to play every matchup inside out.
